Bad sporting weekend

Arsenal deservedly lost to ‘Boro on Sunday; Ricky Hatton deservedly lost to Floyd Mayweather on Saturday; and Pakistan took a thumping over the weekend against India.

Elsewhere, congratulations to Étoile du Sahel. They are the first Tunisian team competing in FIFA’s Club World Cup, and will face Boca Juniors on Wednesday after beating Pachucha of Mexico 1-0 in Tokyo. Also competing for the first time in the competition are Iran’s Sepahan FC. The Iranians will be playing Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds later today, the team that defeated them just last month in the AFC Champions League. The winner of the Sepahan-Urawa match will take on European Champions AC Milan.
