Twenty20 World Cup 2007

I will try and follow the forthcoming Twenty20 World Cup, being held in South Africa. The hosts open against the West Indies later today.

Cricket took a battering thanks to a poor World Cup earlier this year in the Windies; the game on the field was overshadowed by the death of Pakistani coach Bob Woolmer.

Already there are mutterings that the Twenty20 will also be a flop, with the absence of some of the game’s biggest names.

I hope the tournament is a success; to do that teams will have look like they can compete with the mighty Australians who remain firm favourites.
